Process
an overview of what I did for the project
3D Generalist + Graphic Designer
Optimization
Using both original assets and store assets, I edited and optimized each object to make sure the game runs smoothly and efficiently without losing form. This includes, reducing poly count, supercombining in Unity, creating texture atlas, optimizing terrain, deleting hidden faces and fixing broken topology.
Asset Integration
My job was to integrate store assets as well as create custom assets while adhering to the creative director's instructions. Animations were all made inside Unity using a plug-in called Very Animation. Mixamo assets were brought in and edited if necessary. I made sure every animation could be shared across all characters as well as create unique ones to compliment their personalities.
UV Mapping, Textures, Shaders, and Materials
Since most assets were from the Unity store or from external sources, I had to edit the textures within substance painter to match the overall theme.
